whatever gave me the idea that i could be a songwriter.  it's hard.  my thought process makes it super slow and taxing to sit and "write a song".  maybe i should just try to recognize songwriting talent in others and team up.  i am good at the background work of taking raw music, recording and mixing it, mastering.  ::thinky::

I used to think I could write songs too, but then I tried.
It's definitely harder than it looks. That's why i have mad respect for songwriters that don't write bad lyrics. That's a feat, to be sure. I'm pretty sure only Tori Amos accimplishes it in my mind. A lot of the time I find myself liking a song even though it's got one or two lines that make me wince, like Blink 182's Adam's Song or Alkaline Trio's Donner Party. I feel like the entirety of the Smashing Pumpkin's Mellon Collie and the Infinite Saddness ought to be looked over so the offending lines can be removed. Or songs. That album had no business being a double album....
Yeah, this is me rambling.
