|oysters / marrow

a few days back (http://community.livejournal.com/b0st0n/4312991.html), i hit the east side grill in inman and sat at the bar. the shucker was a nice, chatty young guy who suggested trying neptune in the north end. i'll do that soon, but raw bars are more expensive than sushi! ; )|
funny story... a lady sat alone next to me and was looking over some papers... i asked her if this was her office... turns out, she's leading an MIT team of grad students on a research project to find a less invasive way to do bone grafts for non-union fractures... just like the one i suffered from. i had marrow taken from my hip and put into my shoulder, and the hip recovery was worse than the shoulder. ... so we were both excited to talk to each other about that shat. phun times.
