itunes DRM is weak, there's a handful of programs out there to strip it. Of course, if you have a CDRW dsic and a burner, you don't even need that much

i'm a snob about audio quality... i haven't heard a DRM encoded file that i would want to listen to when i know what high-res sounds like.

HYMN project is the best known, although they don't currently work with ITunes 7. If you haven't upgraded, you can download the "old" version (there is no new version). They also have links to a PC app, if you're on a PC.

Automated burn & rip software, requires a CDRW. This gets rid of the DRM. There may be a drop in audio quality, if your ears are as sensitive as Dillweed's (love ya).

This one uses iMovie to convert and reconvert the mp3s
